Ronnie and Paula Lyon
Ronnie and Paula are the owners of Nature’s Presence. They purchased Nature’s Presence March 1, 2017. Ronnie and Paula moved to Boerne from their home in Celeste, a small town northeast of Dallas, in 2014 when Ronnie accepted a job offer with Axeon Specialty Products in San Antonio. They did not plan for the move to be permanent, but they fell in love with the area. Ronnie and Paula love to exercise and try and live healthy and the purchase of Nature’s Presence was the perfect opportunity for them to have a local business and him themselves and others live a healthy lifestyle.
Ronnie and Paula have three children, Kristi, Karen and Kevin and five grandchildren, Emmalyn, Jonah, Henley, Braylee and Mavery. Their son Kevin lives with them in Boerne.
Ronnie was most recently Senior Vice-President and General Counsel for Axeon Specialty Products in San Antonio. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Texas Tech University School of Law, and holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from East Texas State University. He has practiced law for more than 30 years with over 20 year experience as an inhouse General Counsel. Prior to working for Axeon, he served as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Cap Rock Energy Corporation, Inc.
Paula is a former educator. She spent 20 years in education in various capacities. She was an elementary teacher for nine years and then she moved into administration, serving as junior high principal, curriculum director and then ending her career as an elementary principal. She received Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education from Texas A&M Commerce and has a mid-management certificate.
Mimi Besson was recently the owner/operator of Piknik Café in Nature’s Presence. Mimi is the Director of Purchasing for Nature’s Presence. She has over 20 years of experience in food supply procurement, in foodservice, retail and school nutrition industries. She studied Eastern Medicine on the Pacific Coast. Mimi joined the Nature’s Presence family in 2017 and is excited about bringing new options to the growing and changing population in the area.
Judy Norman has been a part of Nature’s Presence for more than five years and in that time, she has been taught the extreme benefits of natural supplements. Enjoying good health for herself, her family and countless others has been a constant goal for Judy. Each week she learns more about what each supplement can do to improve the health of her customers and their well being.
Prior to moving to Texas with her husband ten years ago, Judy spent her time earning a degree in Gerontology and a degree in Marketing, while raising five wonderful children. Judy spent over twenty five years as a Marketing Director for Continuing Care Communications in Southern California.
Carol Dudley has been a part of Nature’s Presence for over four and a half years. Her father was an osteopathic physician and spent the last 35 years of his 65 plus year practice as a nutritional doctor. He believed God gave us the ability to heal naturally and Carol was raised that way. Becoming a part of Nature’s Presence provided Carol with the opportunity to use the valuable information she learned from her father, while learning even more from the knowledgeable staff at Nature’s Presence, to help others live a better and healthier lifestyle. Carol invites people to come by and let her and the other members of the Nature’s Presence family know if they can help or answer questions. Be sure and ask Carol about her father’s book.
Lesa Sowell is our Inventory Manager at Nature’s Presence, working behind the scenes, to insure our clientele have their needs met in a swift time frame. Lesa has been a part of Nature’s Presence for over a year and is a valuable member of our family.
A life-long Texas naturalist, Lesa has used holistic remedies to heal her family for more than 20 years. Guided by traditional herbalists from Arkansas to Mexico, and her hands-on horticultural experience, she understands the connection between the plant and the supplement.
Lesa has found a professional home at Nature’s Presence, and an extended family of healing. From owners and staff to the engaging flow of customers, everyone is always learning and teaching each other.
Mason Schappert has been working for Nature’s Presence for a little over a year, and has always loved learning about natural supplements. With the knowledge she has learned at Nature’s Presence, she enjoys educating her friends and family about the healing benefits of plants. She enjoys the continuous learning opportunities from working at a health store, and enjoys the positive energy at Nature’s Presence.
Mason is currently attending school at Northwest Vista Community College, as she plans to transfer to UTSA to earn her bachelors in Digital Communications. With this degree, she dreams of becoming a travel writer. Mason also practices art on the side, and has recently begun selling her artwork.
